America’s present need is not heroics but healing; not nostrums but normalcy; not revolution but restoration.
Warren G. Harding
The Healing of a polarized nation is not impossible. It is a challenge. There are many deep wounds that have been reopened over and over again in the last 4 years. Healing the wounds of division and hate is not instant. Healing the wounds of division and hate is not without pain.
Just as a doctor provides a treatment plan for someone who has been wounded in the physical body, we have to have a treatment plan for the nation, which has been wounded both physically and mentally. It starts with prayer. Praying for our country to heal, not praying for a civil war, but praying for real healing.
In recent years the divisiveness, hate, ridicule and demeaning of others has been sown into our society and threatens the very fiber of the values we as a country cherish and love; God, liberty and justice for all.
Each one of us can be a part of the treatment plan. Show love when others would show hate. Show compassion when others would show ridicule. A house divided against itself cannot stand and this applies to a nation as well. At the end of the day all we have is each other. Pray we may live in peace. Our future depends on it.
